SAS 70 is an internationally recognized standard that provides an evaluation of the effectiveness of the internal audit of a service company. SAS 70 is not a certificate is that you see on the wall, it is ultimately a report for customers and stakeholders to understand the quality of internal control measures. Each service now has an SLA, but we want our customers to demonstrate transparency and explain how we achieve SLAs.
Multrix started early 2007 with the preparations and inventories. First, a control framework is developed and control objectives are formulated. The challenge was not to create a bureaucratic monster with the risk of losing flexibility. Eventually, Price Waterhouse Coopers has evaluated the report as an independent auditor.
This report is important for a number of existing customers in order to comply with legal and regulatory requirements they face. New customers often demand a certain level of certification of their suppliers.
Multrix expects that new customers ultimately will only outsource their activities to an organisation that can present an audited SAS 70 report. There are only two Service providers/ASP's in the Netherlands that have a SAS 70 certification. Multrix is one of those two !
